President-elect Donald Trump isn’t even in the Oval Office yet, and he’s already making moves to clean up the mess at the Department of Justice. Trump’s appointments so far are hitting it out of the park, and they’re exactly what the country needs to restore order and end the politicization of our justice system.
Mike Davis, president of the Article III Project, recently weighed in on Trump’s picks with Liz Wheeler on The Liz Wheeler Show.
Davis couldn’t be more thrilled, especially with Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff. Wiles is no lightweight; she understands that her role isn’t to “control Trump” but to run everything around him, allowing Trump to do what Trump does best—lead. Davis points out, “This is the first female White House chief of staff,” which should put a big dent in the left’s tired narrative that Trump is somehow “sexist.”
Of course, the left will still find something to whine about because, let’s face it, they’re masters at moving the goalposts. But Trump’s history of elevating strong women speaks for itself. Davis reminds us that Trump had “the first female executive in the construction industry back in the ’90s” who worked with him for almost two decades. So much for the Democrats’ “anti-woman” label.
Trump’s team doesn’t stop there. Stephen Miller has been tapped as deputy chief of staff, and he’s a powerhouse. A fierce advocate for Trump’s America First policies, Miller has long been a champion on immigration issues, and Davis praises him as “a fantastic pick.” With Miller in this role, you can expect no-nonsense immigration policies that actually protect Americans.
Then there’s Tom Homan, the ultimate no-compromise guy on border security, ready to work alongside Wiles and Miller. Davis emphasizes Homan’s role in cracking down on illegal immigration: “He’ll work hand in glove with Susie and Stephen to make sure we close our border and deport these illegal immigrants, starting with the violent criminals first and then moving on to the rest.”
Davis himself has plans to keep pushing for reforms at the Justice Department, which has devolved into a political weapon under the Biden-Harris administration. According to Davis, the DOJ has been “politicized and weaponized” to target Trump’s allies like Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro, as well as ordinary Americans who dare to speak up. From going after parents opposed to radical school policies to imprisoning Christians peacefully praying at abortion clinics, the Biden DOJ’s priorities are clear—and they’re disgraceful.
Davis pulls no punches, saying, “There has to be accountability for what happened, and that accountability has to come at the Justice Department.” With Trump’s all-star picks for his new administration, real accountability and actual justice may finally be on the way. Democrats better get ready, because this isn’t a president who’s going to play by their rules.
