In an interview with Newsmax, Paul confidently predicted that President-elect Donald Trump will address the border crisis starting on “day one” of his second term. “I believe the president, on day one, we’ll have 90 to 100 executive orders on the border. And I think on day one, the problem begins to get fixed,” Paul told “Rob Schmitt Tonight.”
Paul didn’t mince words about the urgency of the situation. “Will there be some legislation that takes longer? Sure,” he acknowledged. “But I fully expect in the first two months you’re going to see criminal elements in our country arrested. And I will be shocked if you don’t. And I don’t think that requires any legislation.” He pointed out that while legislation would help secure the border further, the president already has the tools and authority needed to take immediate action—something Biden could have done but refused to.
“Biden had the power, but no will—did nothing and allowed the border to be wide open,” Paul said, highlighting the stark contrast between Trump’s decisive leadership and Biden’s failure. According to Paul, Biden’s policies not only left the border open but actively encouraged illegal immigration by spreading people across the country with taxpayer money. It’s a damning indictment of the Democrats’ priorities, which seem to revolve around virtue signaling rather than actual solutions.
Paul also emphasized the importance of cracking down on criminal elements that have exploited the porous border. “What I want to see, and I think what the Americans want to see, is see people like the murderer of Laken Riley arrested. I want to see people arrested who have committed crimes both before they came to our country and since,” Paul declared.
