It’s no secret: tens of millions of illegal immigrants have crossed into the United States since January 2021, bringing with them a wave of problems that the Biden-Harris administration seems unwilling to address. Illegal immigration isn’t just about porous borders; it’s about an onslaught that includes a staggering number of lethal drugs, diseases, and the displacement of American workers and students. Despite the obvious chaos, Vice President Kamala Harris—appointed “border czar” in what may be the least successful appointment in recent memory—continues to blame former President Donald Trump and Republicans for the colossal border failure. But who’s buying it?
Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman made a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience and did his best to peddle the Democrats’ narrative, claiming that they are serious about border security. Rogan, who’s no stranger to cutting through the fluff, didn’t hesitate to call out the insincerity. Rogan speculated that Democrats are exploiting the border crisis to gain political power by flooding swing states with potential future voters. “There is a significant number of these people that are illegal immigrants that have made their way to swing states,” said Rogan. “This is a big fear that people have … that this will turn all these states into essentially locked-blue like California is.”
And that fear isn’t baseless. Elon Musk recently took to social media to say, “The Dems have imported massive numbers of illegals to swing states. Triple digit increases over the past 4 years! Their STATED plan is to give them citizenship as soon as possible, turning all swing states Dem. America would then become a one-party, deep blue socialist state.”
The Biden administration’s strategy is transparent to those who are paying attention: allow migrants into red and swing states, provide them with taxpayer-funded benefits, and then push for amnesty. The result? A ready-made voting bloc loyal to the party that opened the door. Rogan’s skepticism left Fetterman stammering, resorting to vague rhetoric about how “immigration is always going to be a tough issue in our nation.”
For anyone who has followed Democrat policy, their so-called “solutions” are just smoke and mirrors. Democrats claim they want “comprehensive reform,” but their recent rejection of the Secure the Border Act of 2023—a robust plan led by Sen. Ted Cruz to address the crisis—tells a different story. Instead, they push bills that contain amnesty and loopholes for migrants to remain in the country indefinitely.
Consider the Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, H.R. 815, which Democrats have touted. It allows for 1.4 million illegal aliens to enter before any form of action can even be triggered. This isn’t “comprehensive reform”; it’s a revolving door.
Rogan didn’t let Fetterman off the hook, reminding him that Republicans won critical swing states in 2016 by just a few thousand votes. With millions of new non-citizens scattered across key areas, the fear is that Democrats are laying the groundwork to flip red and swing states to blue permanently, ensuring Democrat dominance for generations.
Steven Camarota of the Center for Immigration Studies made a critical observation: it’s not just about voting. Even non-citizens influence our democracy. The Census, which includes all residents, counts immigrants—legal or illegal—in apportioning House seats and Electoral College votes. According to Camarota, the inclusion of illegal immigrants in the 2020 Census shifted a whopping 17 House seats. Democrats are effectively stacking the deck by increasing representation in blue states, boosting their power without a single illegal immigrant ever casting a ballot.
Fetterman’s final attempt to defend the flood of illegal immigration was to say, “Immigration is changing our nation,” adding that this change is “generally for a good thing.” For whom, exactly? It’s certainly not good for American workers, families, or students who are bearing the burden of this uncontrolled influx.
