This week, Vice President Kamala Harris said that Trump would go after his opponents, and now President Joe Biden said that he is looking forward to seeing former President Donald Trump go to jail.
Biden said the following at a Harris gathering in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania:
“Hey everyone, take a look. If he loses, this is the same person who was fined $83 million for sexual abuse and libel. This is also the person who got rid of Roe v. Wade, and all three of those cases are coming up soon. Also, he had to be sentenced because he had committed 34 crimes. He got the sentence thrown out, but I want to see that sentence again. Hey, Trump isn’t running for office. He’s running for office himself. I believe he is running to avoid going to jail.”
Previously, Harris had warned on The Breakfast Club with host “Charlamagne tha God”:
“Trump has made it very clear that he wants to use the Department of Justice to hurt his political opponents. He has made it very clear that he will get rid of the independent people who are there and replace them with his supporters. Again, understand what you’re talking about because this is related to your point about threats to our democracy. Donald Trump would go into the Department of Justice and change it so that it could be used against his political opponents.”
“There you have it. If he wins again, he’s going to lock you all up.”
Harris: Oh, and by the way, he’s going to—Read what he said. As a reporter, I don’t think you should be so sure that —
Charlamagne: Yes very much.
Harris: Reporters, judges, and other people. Do you know who does that? It’s what dictators do. That is what other countries do.
The irony is that Trump has been being prosecuted for years by the Department of Justice and Democratically elected state lawyers in cases that are very biased.
Trump’s “34 felonies” have to do with payments he made to adult film star Stormy Daniels (born Stephanie Crawford) as part of a legal deal not to talk about the scandal. Alvin Bragg, a prosecutor backed by George Soros, said that Trump didn’t report the payments as federal campaign expenditures. The decision is likely to be overturned on appeal. (By the same standard, Harris or her husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, could be charged with money owed to a former nanny as part of a deal not to tell anyone about his affair with her, which ended his first marriage.)
Biden also said that he improperly pushed the Department of Justice to bring criminal charges against protesters who were at the January 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol, saying that he hoped the department would “go after them and hold them accountable criminally.”
