President Joe Biden’s indicted son, Hunter Biden, is threatening to sue Fox News for defamation if the cable network does not comply with his lawyers’ demands regarding negative information about his personal life and business dealings, including material from a laptop he allegedly left behind at a repair shop.
Last Tuesday, NBC News received a letter that threatened “imminent” legal action in response to allegations of “conspiracy and subsequent acts to defame Mr. Biden and portray him in a false light, the unlicensed exploitation of his name and image, and the unlawful publication of hacked intimate images of him.”
Axios reports that the lawyers demanded the retention of documents by hosts Sean Hannity, Jesse Watters, and Maria Bartiromo, the removal of the Hunter Biden mock trial on Fox Nation, and an update on the indictment of a longtime FBI informant suspected of fabricating a multimillion-dollar bribery scheme involving the Bidens.
There was a deadline for a response by Friday evening, April 26, but Fox News did not reply, according to news reports about the letter on Monday. But there was no sign that Hunter Biden’s legal counsel had yet to launch a lawsuit. The next day, Fox News sent a statement to reporters.
The attorneys for Hunter Biden have decided, perhaps belatedly, to criticize Fox News’ constitutionally protected coverage of their client. According to a spokeswoman, the US Attorney’s Offices in Delaware and California have both filed indictments against Mr. Biden, a prominent figure who has acknowledged several instances of misconduct and has been the focus of investigations by both the Department of Justice and Congress. “Fox News has appropriately covered these widely reported events and the subsequent prosecution of an FBI informant who was the source of several assertions made about Mr. Biden in a manner consistent with the First Amendment.”
Hunter Biden’s attorneys have filed lawsuits against several individuals, including a former Trump White House official, claiming that he violated both state and federal laws by releasing pictures and emails from the controversial laptop associated with the younger Biden. A federal judge granted Garrett Ziegler’s request to dismiss the lawsuit.
The Fox News lawsuit follows the network’s agreement to pay almost $800 million to resolve a Dominion Voting Systems defamation action that arose from the 2020 election. The voting technology company Smartmatic filed a $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit, which Fox News has counterclaimed against.
Two federal indictments are pending against Hunter Biden. He entered a not guilty plea to the tax and firearms allegations. June of this year will mark the start of the trials. Additionally, the first son participated in a private deposition during the House’s corruption-focused impeachment investigation of President Biden.
How else can Hunter keep the focuses on him and not his father’s violations of various laws and regulations?
That’s what happens when Hunter was high as a kite, handed his laptop to the guy to have it fix. So, the guy had to open up to see what the problem was. He found the problems, with Hunter inhale, shooting up, smoking pot, drinking whiskey, fully naked prostitutes, etc.
